 HE Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, congratulated the students who won first place in Al-Azhar Quran Memorization Contest for their excellence and entitlement to this honor by memorizing the Quran, mastering its recitation methods and navigating its treasures and precious gems. He also congratulated and praised their parents, mentors, and teachers for their boundless efforts to make these winners reach such a level of mastery and brilliance in memorizing and reciting the Glorious Quran.
HE Imam At-Tayyeb posted on his official webpages, on Facebook and X: “Congratulations to my sons and daughters, memorizers of the Book of Allah Almighty, who won Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif Quran Memorization Contest, for their excellence and entitlement to this honor by memorizing the Book of Allah and navigating its treasures and precious gems. Congratulations to you on this achievement. Congratulations to your families, mentors, teachers, Al-Azhar, and our dear Egypt for having these distinguished models. You are the source of our pride and esteem.”
 
HE Imam At-Tayyeb thanked Al-Azhar Institutes Sector and the General Administration of Glorious Quran Affairs for their tireless and continuous efforts to implement the stages of the contest, in accordance with its respective rules and conditions. He called for continuing these efforts and development activities every year to discover the most brilliant students, honor them, and help them excel and maintain diligence toward being role models for their colleagues and peers everywhere. He noted that in such a way they would reflect the beautiful, bright image of Al-Azhar students and memorizers of the Divine Scripture.
 
Today, Wednesday, Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif announced the names of the top students who won the annual 2023-2024 Al-Azhar Quran Memorization Contest. The contestants were approximately 150,000, 82,000 from civil memorization classes, 34 from primary institutes, 1000 from preparatory institutes, 22000 from preparatory institutes, 9000 from secondary institutes, and approximately 3000 from Al-Azhar Ruwaq Academy.
 
The contest comprises four categories with prizes exceeding 25 million pounds, classified as follows: The first category is for memorizing the full Quran and mastery of its recitation. The awards for this category range between 250 thousand pounds for first-place winners and 90 thousand pounds for tenth-place winners. The mentors at civil memorization classes receive 10,000 pounds for each winner among their students, when securing a place among the top ten.
The second category includes memorizers of the full Quran, with awards ranging between 150,000 pounds for first-place winners and 60,000 pounds for first-place winners. The mentors at civil memorization classes receive 8,000 pounds for each winner among their students, when securing a place among the top ten.
The third category includes memorizers of twenty parts (Ajza’) of the Quran, from Surat At-Tawbah to the end of Surat An-Nas. The awards for this category range between 50 thousand pounds for first-place winners and 32 thousand pounds for tenth-place winners. The mentors at civil memorization classes receive 6,000 pounds for each winner among their students, when securing a place among the top ten.
 
The fourth category includes memorizers of ten parts (Ajza’) of the Quran, from Surat Al-Ankabut to the end of Surat An-Nas. The awards for this category range between 40 thousand pounds for first-place winners and 22 thousand pounds for tenth-place winners. The mentors at civil memorization classes receive 4,000 pounds for each winner among their students, when securing a place among the top ten.
