His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, congratulated His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the kings, presidents, princes, and peoples of the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. His Eminence prays to Allah Almighty to bring this blessed occasion back to the Islamic nation and humanity as a whole with goodness, security, peace, blessings, and prosperity.

His Eminence stated, “As we celebrate Eid al-Adha, it is hard for us to witness the aggression our brothers in the Gaza Strip have been subjected to for nearly two years. Its brutality has surpassed the limits of imagination and perception; it has shown no mercy to a child, an elderly person, a woman, or a sick person. Not a stone, a tree, or a human being has been spared. It has completely disregarded all international and humanitarian conventions, without any religious, conscientious, or moral restraint.”

The Grand Imam calls on the international community and all effective international and regional powers to fully assume their responsibilities and expedite the lifting of the unjust blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, which has turned the lives of two million Palestinians into an unbearable hell. His Eminence stresses the importance of exerting maximum pressure to halt this aggression immediately and unconditionally, and to open all crossings to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian, food, and medical aid to save the innocent who face death day and night. He asked Allah Almighty to grant them victory over their enemy, to make them steadfast, and to preserve their land.
