Date: June 14-24, 2017
Activities:
- The convoy exerted a great Da’wah effort that made its unprecedented mark in Islamic centers, in addition to holding many events, which constituted a double effort for members. Yet, they were up to the task in an exemplary manner and thus had a good impact on the French reality and in introducing the MCE and its efforts, as indicated in the following lines. Advocacy activities:
- The convoy's Da’wah activities varied over ten continuous days, as most of the convoy members, from the first day of their arrival and despite their late arrival to the mosques where they resided, engaged in Da’wah activities, giving lessons and talks leading the prayer times. Each member would give at least two lessons a day, collectively offering 280 lesson and lecture on diverse topics, including intellectual, juristic, and moral issues.
Friday Sermons
- Convoy members delivered Friday sermons in Islamic mosques in France, around 10 sermons on different topics, including the merits of Ramadan, religious rulings related to Eid-ul-Fitr, Prophet Muhammad as a Prophet of mercy, and the Glorious Qur’an as a way of life.
Events and activities:
- The members held many events and made various visits to numerous institutions and bodies in the French society, such as churches, monasteries, schools and some symbolic intellectual figures. The total of these visits and events reached (25), and the visits were invested in introducing the Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif and the Muslim Council of Elders, its goals and mission, which is to spread the culture of peace throughout the world and to strengthen the nation’s immunity, especially the youth, against the discourse of violence and hurling accusations of apostasy at others, redress misconceptions and revive the moderate religious scruples in the nation entirely.
The visit also involved several dialogues around some key and pressing issues, such as terrorism and ways to combat it, and the role of Al-Azhar and the Muslims Council of Elders in combating it.
