Activities:
- Giving a lecture to female students at one of the development institutions of the Kenya Red Cross, in Nairobi.
- Giving a lecture entitled “Youth are the core and crux of the nation”, at Al-Huda Mosque, the largest mosque in Kenya.
- Visiting the Egyptian Embassy in Kenya, and meeting with Ambassador Hussein Rushdi, Chargé d ‘Affairs, Counselor Aktham Al-Halawani, Counselor of the Egyptian Embassy, and Counselor Mohamed El-Gridly, the Egyptian Consul in Kenya. The two parties discussed the constant efforts exerted by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif in spreading peace and strengthening Egypt’s role in sustaining firm relations with its African brotherly countries through educational and Da’wah missions, and Al-Azhar counter-extremism initiatives.
- Visiting the Mama Fatuma Children’s Home.
- Conducting a live radio interview for Iqra F.M. radio station, a famous local station launched in 2001 and transmits to seven Kenyan governorates.
- Meeting with Professor Wahome Ephraim, Dean of the College of Arts, and Professor Iribe Mwangi, Head of the Swahili Language Department at the College, at the University of Nairobi, one of the largest Kenyan universities. The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Al-Azhar and the University of Nairobi in spreading the teachings of tolerant Islam and peaceful coexistence.
- Giving a lecture at the Imtiaz Ali Mosque, downtown Nairobi.
- Holding a meeting with the President of the Council of Churches of Africa, Reverend Samuel Njoroge, Archbishop of Kenya, Reverend Robert Mahiri, General Secretary of the Churches of Kenya, Pastor James Kamati, and Reverend Geoffrey Macharia.
- Holding meetings at Umma University, the first Islamic university in Kenya, the first of which was with the President of the University, Professor Omar Idle, and the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, Dr. Mohamed Karama.
- At the invitation of the President of the Umma University, the convoy participated in a workshop organized by the University and the Catholic university Tangaza College, under the title “Cooperation among Religions for Peace and Development.”
- Visiting Jamia Mosque, downtown Nairobi.
- Giving a lecture at Al Noor Mosque.
The convoy moved from Nairobi to Malindi, and its activities were as follows:
- Participating in the interfaith dialogue round organized by the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), Malindi Branch. The round brought together representatives of the religions and sects in the Kenyan state.
- A meeting with the Council of Teachers and Preachers in Malindi.
- Visiting MEDA-F Foundation for development and training.
- Visiting Daralmudathir for Islamic Studies.
The convoy then moved from Malindi to Mombasa, where it held the following activities:
- Visiting the Al-I'tisam Islamic Primary School.
- Visiting Ahal Khor Fakkan Mosque, known as Al-Azhar Mosque as it was founded by one of Al-Azhar graduates. The head of the Convoy gave a speech entitled, “Family as the Nucleus of Society.”
- Delivering a lecture entitled, “The role of the imam and the teacher in guiding the Muslim community”, in the presence of a number of imams and teachers.
- Visiting SUPKEM Mombasa headquarters.
- Meeting with the Kenyan Imams and Preachers Council.
- Visiting the headquarters of the Peace Generation Association.
- Giving a speech at Jundan Mosque, one of the largest and oldest mosques in Mombasa.
- Giving a speech at Shibu Mosque.
- Visiting the Saliheen Islamic Studies Center.
