The Grand Imam praises Ministry of Endowments’ efforts and rejects any discourse contradicting Al-Azhar approach
Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Dr. Muhammad Mokhtar Gomaa, Minister of Religious Endowments of Egypt, accompanied by a delegation of young preachers and ministry leaders.
Dr. Gomaa and his accompanying delegation congratulated the Grand Imam on the occasion of the blessed ˁEid ul-Fiṭr, wishing His Eminence good health and wellness, and wishing Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif further progress and success under his leadership. He stressed that all religious institutions in Egypt are united under the umbrella of Al-Azhar, and that its moderate approach is the basis for missionary work.
Dr. Gomaa reviewed a summary of the ministry’s efforts to advance the missionary discourse in Egypt, raise the level of imams and Islamic preachers, restore the role of mosques in raising social awareness, and instill the values of citizenship and coexistence in people, indicating that these efforts are carried out in cooperation with Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif in its various sectors.
On the other hand, His Eminence the Grand Imam commended the ministry’s efforts in promoting the true religion of Islam in Egypt and praised its fruitful cooperation with Al-Azhar. He called on young preachers and leaders in the Ministry to adhere to Al-Azhar approach, and reject any discourse that contradicts it, stressing that this approach is the only guarantee of stability, coexistence and cohesion of the social fabric in Egypt.
