The Grand Imam congratulates King Abdullah II on 100th anniversary of Jordanian establishment
Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received today, Thursday, at Al-Azhar headquarters Mr. Amjad Al-Adayleh, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan to Egypt, and Jordan's Delegate to the League of Arab States. During the meeting, the Grand Imam sent his greetings to King Abdullah II of Jordan, and his sincere congratulations to Jordan's leadership, government and people, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. His Eminence emphasized the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Jordan in supporting the issues of the Arab and Muslim countries, praying to Allah Almighty to preserve Jordan and maintain its security, safety, and stability.
The Jordanian Ambassador, for his part, conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II to the Grand Imam and the scholars of Al-Azhar. He stressed that Al-Azhar is the beacon of the Muslim world and a source of pride for every Arab, and that Muslims around the world bear feelings of love and belonging to this ancient institution, even those who did not have the honor of studying there or visiting it before.
He prayed to the Lord to preserve Al-Azhar and its Grand Imam, and to maintain the virtue of Al-Azhar scholars and its moderate approach in the Arab and Muslim world.
