Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif received, on Tuesday at the headquarters of Al-Azhar, Ambassador Rajai Nasr, the new Ambassador of Egypt to Malaysia. His Eminence congratulated Ambassador Rajai Nasr on his assumption of this new task, calling on Allah Almighty to help him perform his due tasks successfully, including boosting the religious, academic and cultural relationships between Al-Azhar and Malaysia. HE pointed out that Al-Azhar has deeply-rooted historical relations with Malaysia, and that there are more than 7,000 Malaysian students studying at Al-Azhar University. “They are good representatives of their country and role models of commitment and hard work as they participate in promoting the moderate approach of Al- Azhar in Malysia”.
The Egyptian Ambassador to Malaysia expressed his appreciation and pleasure for meeting the Grand Imam, a universal religious figure whose efforts and speeches receive great global attention, stressing that he would seek, during his office as an Ambassador to Malaysia, to support cultural and academic relations between Al-Azhar and Malaysia.
