During his meeting with Grand Imam, Director of the Dominican Institute for Oriental Studies affirms: We are keen on academic cooperation with Al-Azhar to benefit from its great experience
Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif received, on Saturday, Dr. Emmanuel Pizani, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Dominican Fathers. The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar is keen to have academic exchange with all academic institutions and institutes around the world to achieve mutual benefit in various disciplines and fields of knowledge, HE remarked his great interest in qualifying the students of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, especially at the faculties of Islamic disciplines such as Faculties of theology, Islamic Law, Arabic Language, on opening up to educational and academic institutions in the West through designing academic exchange programs that help achieving the desired goals. His Eminence stressed that Al-Azhar is an ancient academic institution that enjoys global recognition as a great scholarly reference and a moderate religious institution with a universal message whose essence is to introduce the correct image of Islam to the world and boost the values of tolerance, coexistence and dialogue. On his part, the Director of the Dominican Institute for Oriental Studies expressed his great pleasure for meeting the Grand Imam, the greatest religious symbol in the Muslim world, stressing the Institute's keenness to cooperate with Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif to achieve rapprochement and benefit from its great scholarly expertise.
