The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar receives Chancellor Paul Fahmy and congratulates him on assuming the presidency of the Supreme Constitutional Court. At the beginning of the meeting, the Grand Imam congratulated Chancellor Paul Fahmy on assuming the presidency of the Supreme Constitutional Court, expressing his best wishes for him to successfully perform this task and lead the court to further improvement and progress so as to protect the constitution, achieve justice and establish the rule of law for the good of our beloved Egypt and its honest people. Chancellor Paul Fahmy thanked the Grand Imam, appreciating the congratulations he received from His Eminence after his appointment as the Head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, and the reiteration of these words of appreciation today. He said that His Eminence the Grand Imam has always been representative of the moderation of this ancient institution and its outstanding national role. He also stressed that the efforts of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar at home and abroad are widely recognized, with a great impact on the service of humanity. The two sides exchanged talks on the importance of the role played by the Supreme Constitutional Court in protecting rights, freedoms and the rule of law, along with its prominent and effective role in preserving the stability of the country, stressing that the Court with its long-standing experience and traditions is a source of pride for the Egyptians before the world's constitutional courts.
