Grand Imam addressing Ambassador of Uzbekistan: We are proud of our extended scholarly and missionary relations with the State of Uzbekistan
Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif received, on Thursday morning at the headquarters of Al-Azhar, Ambassador Mansour Bey Kelychiv, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Cairo, to discuss ways of boosting joint cooperation between Al-Azhar and Uzbekistan. The Grand Imam said, “Al-Azhar is proud of its extended scholarly and missionary relations with the State of Uzbekistan because of the appreciation he has witnessed in this Muslim country of the value of knowledge and scholars, and the great interest they have in preserving the Islamic heritage, stressing his keenness to strengthen cooperation with scholarly and preaching institutions in the State of Uzbekistan to exchange benefits with them.
On his part, Ambassador Mansur Bey Kelychiv expressed the State of Uzbekistan's great appreciation for His Eminence the Grand Imam and his prominent role in promoting the values of Peace, tolerance and dialogue around the world, stressing his pleasure with the progress achieved at the level of mutual scholarly relations with Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, and his country's constant keenness to benefit from Al-Azhar's scholarly and missionary expertise.
