The Grand Imam receives the Malaysian Ambassador to Egypt
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received today, Monday, at Al-Azhar headquarters, His Excellency Ambassador Zamani bin Ismail, the Malaysian Ambassador to Egypt, at the end of his term of service in Egypt.
The Grand Imam wished the Malaysian Ambassador success and fulfillment in his future endeavors. He noted that Mr. Ismail has been keen during his term in Cairo to consolidate relationships between Malaysia and Al-Azhar, follow up on the issues and affairs of foreign students, identify the most prominent challenges, and work to overcome all obstacles facing them.
The Grand Imam pointed out that Al-Azhar has more than 7,000 Malaysian students in various educational levels at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and they are known for their good manners, morals, and diligence in acquiring knowledge and science. He added that Al-Azhar cares greatly for them and provides them with all means to help them achieve excellence, so that after their graduation, they will serve as ambassadors for Al-Azhar in their country as well as around the world.
For his part, the Malaysian Ambassador expressed his happiness for meeting the Grand Imam, especially before his return to his country, and his appreciation for the efforts made by His Eminence to support the issues of the Islamic nation, and to care for the international students at Al-Azhar, especially the Malaysian students. Mr. Ismail noted that Al-Azhar graduates are highly respected in Malaysia and they hold high-ranking positions in various Malaysian organizations, ministries, and institutions.
