My door and Al-Azhar's are open to you at any time, the Grand Imam to Azhari students of Gaza
The Grand Imam offers condolences to his students in Gaza who lost their loved ones and relatives
His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, received a group of senior secondary school students from Al-Azhar Institutes in Gaza for both boys/girls (Gaza Religious Institute, Khan Younis Institute, and North Gaza Institute) who joined Al-Azhar institutes in Cairo after the start of the Zionist aggression on Gaza, to complete their studies and take their exams.
The Grand Imam welcomed the students of Gaza to Egypt and Al-Azhar, saying: “Our hearts have been in pain for the past six months since the beginning of the aggression, and we have lived with you the humanitarian tragedy that you have suffered day after day, but our meeting with you today has given us hope again. You have taught the world the meaning of steadfastness, perseverance, hope and trust in God, and I see that in your steadfastness and insistence on completing your education. We at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif are happy to have you with us, and we will work to provide all means of comfort to ensure your excellence. My door and the door of Al-Azhar are open to you at any hour of the day or night.”
His Eminence the Grand Imam was keen to offer his condolences to students who lost family members and friends. He also checked on the relatives and friends of the injured students who were admitted to Egyptian hospitals, praying to Allah Almighty to grant them a speedy recovery. His Eminence was also keen to listen to the students who expressed their suffering during the difficult days and bitter experiences they had while staying in Gaza during the aggression. He confirmed that he was following up on the students’ conditions around the clock to identify all their needs and meet them as quickly as possible.
The Gazan students, for their part, said to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar: “Allah Almighty has granted us salvation after our homes and institutes were bombed, and we lost many of our friends and relatives. Allah has enabled us to move to Egypt, and we found hope in Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and its Grand Imam, where we were able to complete our studies and receive all forms of support that helped us achieve this after the dream of completing our studies seemed out of reach.”
The students of Gaza presented the Grand Imam with the Palestinian keffiyeh in appreciation of his role in supporting them and the Palestinian cause.
The Grand Imam had directed the reception of the senior students of Al-Azhar secondary schools (institutes) of both scientific and literary sections, from Gaza's Azhari institutes, in the May 15 youth hostel of Al-Azhar, and providing them with all means of subsistence and residence throughout the period of exams so that they may not lose an academic year.
