His Eminence Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, received Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Egypt’s Minister of Finance, to discuss the financial requirements related to the various sectors of Al-Azhar, and ways to enhance financial support to make sure that each sector continues to achieve its goals.

During the meeting, His Eminence the Grand Imam stressed the uniqueness and importance of Al-Azhar’s message, especially considering the contemporary challenges and cultural invasion that aims to infiltrate all corners of society and eliminate the system of religious and moral values. This requires doubling the efforts to protect youth and children, spread values, and confront the Western cultural invasion.

The Minister of Finance, for his part, expressed his happiness for meeting the Grand Imam, and his appreciation for his role in promulgating true Islam. He stressed the state’s goal, with all its bodies and ministries, to support Al-Azhar in carrying out its mission, as it is one of the most prominent scientific beacons of Islamic and Arabic sciences around the world.
