Grand Imam receives mother of visually impaired Azhari student and affirms: “An exemplary mother who set a model of sacrifice, dedication, and trust in Allah.”
His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, received the Azhari visually impaired student, Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, who led the Tarawih prayers during Ramadan at Al-Azhar Mosque, accompanied by his mother and siblings.
The Grand Imam expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the exemplary mother who set an example of sacrifice, dedication, and trust in God. He added that she refused to give in to discouragement and raised her children to love the Noble Quran and understand its meanings; they have become role models, as we witnessed the brilliance of her son, Muhammad, as he led thousands of worshippers in prayer at Al-Azhar Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.
His Eminence responded to the student's request and desire to learn English so he could become one of Al-Azhar preachers who memorize the Quran and are well-versed in foreign languages. His Eminence directed that he be enrolled in one of Al-Azhar's language institutes after completing his secondary certificate education.
The Egyptian Zakat and Charity House indicated in a statement that the Grand Imam also directed that his younger sister be treated at a specialized medical center in Cairo, and that her health condition be monitored until she fully recovers.
