His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Mr. László Kövér, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, during the latter’s visit to Cairo. The Grand Imam stated that some people exploit the death of innocent people to achieve narrow interests at the expense of peoples’ pain. He stressed that the problems afflicting the southern Mediterranean will not be confined to the southern banks, but will cross to the north, as manifested in the terrorist organizations’ targeting of the innocent in several regions of Europe. Moreover, he expressed his appreciation for Hungary's stance and its fair vision regarding the common problems facing humanity. He also expressed Al-Azhar's readiness for unlimited cooperation with Hungary and all equitable countries that distinguish between religions and terrorism and that view the achievement of peace as a common global responsibility.
