Indonesian Minister of State: Al-Azhar graduates have an important role to play in supporting stability and peaceful coexistence in Indonesia
His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Dr. Puan Maharani, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs. The Grand Imam stated that the relationship between Al-Azhar and Indonesia as a leading Muslim country is exceptional, and this is embodied in the mutual visits and unlimited cooperation between the two sides. HE expressed Al-Azhar's readiness to provide more support to Indonesia in all fields.
For her part, Dr. Maharani expressed her country's pride in its relationship with Al-Azhar, stressing that Al-Azhar's moves and efforts in Indonesia and in East Asia have had a major role in helping the region confront terrorism and deviant thought. She added that Al-Azhar graduates in Indonesia play a key role in sustaining stability and peaceful coexistence along the different spectrums of the Indonesian society.
