His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, met with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council on the sidelines of His Eminence’s participation in the Arab Media Summit. 

The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, His Eminence Prof. Nazir Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt, and His Excellency Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders.

His Eminence the Grand Imam emphasized the need to empower youth in various fields, particularly in peacemaking, and to enable them to play a pivotal role in global initiatives that seek to consolidate a culture of brotherhood and build bridges between East and West. His Eminence also emphasized the importance of the media's role in establishing authentic values and principles, and confronting phenomena that seek to undermine the nation’s youth. He emphasized the media's powerful influence on societies, which calls for the preparation of media professionals capable of confronting such phenomena, which are alien to our societies.

His Eminence expressed his appreciation for the UAE's role, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in spreading the culture of coexistence and human fraternity at the Arab and international levels.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum welcomed the Grand Imam to the UAE, wishing him continued health and wellness. He expressed his appreciation for His Eminence's efforts and for Al-Azhar's pivotal role in spreading the message of tolerance and human coexistence, promoting a culture of respect for others, and promoting the true image of the true Islamic religion.
