Al-Azhar Al-Sharif expresses its solidarity with the sisterly State of Qatar and calls for respect for the independence and sovereignty of states over all their territories.

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif believes that the clash of weapons cannot stop wars or extinguish their flames, yet dialogue that leads to a just and lasting peace can bring an end to wars and the trivial reasons that rekindle them, according to regional interests or agendas.

Hence, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif affirms its full support for efforts to achieve a lasting and just peace, a swift cessation of hostilities, and the empowerment of developing countries to secure a dignified life for their citizens, just like all other nations which have decided to end any conflict that leads to the shedding of their children's blood.

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif calls on the Islamic nation to revive the principle of “just peace” and adhere to it to end the conflicts raging between its people, and reminds it of the divine command addressed to the noble Prophet (pbuh) in the Holy Quran: “But if they incline towards peace, you [Prophet] must also incline towards it, and put your trust in God” (8:61).

Yes to peace for every living creature that moves on this earth, and no to war, even against animals and insects.
