Grand Imam mourns Dr. Saber Younes, former Dean of the Faculty of Arabic in Zagazig
Accepting Allah's will, His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad al-Tayyeb mourns the esteemed scholar, Prof. Saber Abdel Dayem, former Dean of the Faculty of Arabic at Al-Azhar University and recipient of the Order of Sciences and Arts, First Class. He passed away today, Monday, after a lifelong journey of service to the Arabic language and the sciences of the Holy Quran.
Al-Azhar affirms that the late scholar was a model of diligence, and keenness to seek knowledge and disseminate Arabic language studies. He left behind a scholarly legacy that will continue to be a resource for students and researchers in the fields of linguistics and Islamic law.
Al-Azhar Grand Imam extends his sincere condolences to the deceased’s family, students, and colleagues in other Faculties of Arabic, asking Allah Almighty to bestow His vast mercy and forgiveness on him, to admit him into His spacious Paradise, and to inspire his family and relatives patience and solace. “Indeed we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.”
