The Grand Imam directs Al-Azhar leaderships to quickly take charge of the case of student Aya Muhanna, who is battling cancer and disability, and to fulfill all her needs as soon as possible.

His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad al-Tayyeb received the outstanding student, Aya El-Sayed Muhanna, who fought cancer and disability and ranked first in Sohag Governorate in the preparatory certificate for the blind, with a percentage of 99.6%.

The Grand Imam directed the leaders of Al-Azhar to take care of the case of the student and to study all her needs and meet all her demands as quickly as possible. In addition, he ordered granting her a financial reward in appreciation of her excellence, as well as a monthly allowance from Al-Azhar’s special accounts. His Eminence also ordered facilitating her transfer from Sohag to Cairo to receive cancer treatment at Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357.

His Eminence affirmed that the student, Aya Muhanna, set an example of defiance and determination to continue living, keenness to seek knowledge, and not giving up despite her difficult health conditions and the enormous challenges she faced. He noted that Al-Azhar is proud of this inspiring example, and considers her a symbol of hope, success, and determination, and a role model to be emulated in holding on to faith in Allah.

It is worth mentioning that Aya lost her sight after undergoing a delicate surgery to remove a brain tumor. Then, she began a new journey full of difficulties, but she did not give up and was able to complete her educational journey within Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, until she was able to excel and achieve first place at the level of Sohag Governorate in the Al-Azhar preparatory certificate exams.
