Al-Azhar Grand Imam receives Jordanian Ambassador to Egypt

His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, received today, Thursday, at Al-Azhar headquarters, His Excellency Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan to Egypt.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Adaileh conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, King of Jordan, to His Eminence the Grand Imam, and His Majesty’s appreciation for the great role played by Al-Azhar in supporting the issues of the nation and supporting Muslims around the world. He also conveyed His Majesty’s appreciation for His Eminence’s efforts in correcting the distorted image of the true Islamic religion, and spreading the correct image of the moderate, balanced, and tolerant teachings of Islam.

The Jordanian Ambassador affirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening its relations with Al-Azhar. He expressed his appreciation for the care that Jordanian students get at Al-Azhar, which provides them with scholarships, removes the obstacles they face, and helps them to devote themselves to acquiring knowledge without impediments.

The Grand Imam affirmed the deep relations that bind Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to the Kingdom of Jordan, expressing his appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II and the efforts he is making in serving the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations. The Grand Imam wished His Majesty continued health and wellness.

His Eminence also affirmed Al-Azhar’s readiness to meet all of Jordan’s scientific and dawah needs, by providing scholarships for Jordanian students and sending Al-Azhar envoys. In addition, Al-Azhar is ready to host Jordanian imams to receive training at Al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams and Preachers. The academy uses well-structured curricula prepared by a specialized scientific body from Al-Azhar professors and scholars in various disciplines.
