Accepting Allah's will, His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, mourns the passing of the esteemed scholar, Professor Abdullah Al-Shazly, Professor of Theology and Philosophy at the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion in Tanta, Al-Azhar University. Prof. Al-Shazly passed away after a life dedicated to the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge, and to upholding the Azharite methodology. He was an exemplary teacher and mentor, leaving behind a rich scholarly legacy that will continue to be a source of inspiration for students and researchers.

The Grand Imam extends his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of the esteemed scholar, his colleagues, students, and all who loved him, praying to Almighty Allah to grant him His abundant mercy and forgiveness, and to make his knowledge and deeds intercede for him on the Day of Judgment. He also prays that Allah grants his family and loved ones patience and solace. “Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.”
