The 11th International Conference of the Arab Impact Factor announced the selection of His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb as the Person of the Year 2026. This comes in recognition of his scientific, intellectual and humanitarian career; his global efforts in consolidating the values of peace and coexistence; and enhancing the position of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif as a global scientific and dawah beacon that spreads enlightened moderate thought.

This honor comes as part of the activities of the 11th international Arab Impact Factor conference, which is being hosted by Al-Azhar University for the first time under the title: “Islamic Economics and Digital Transformation,” during the period from May 7 to 9, 2026, with the participation of a select group of scholars, researchers and academics from various Arab countries.

The Arab Impact Factor is one of the leading Arab scientific initiatives in evaluating and ranking peer-reviewed scientific journals according to international academic standards. This contributes to raising the quality of Arab scientific research, supporting scientific publication in Arabic, and enhancing the presence of Arab universities and research institutions at both the regional and international levels.

The selection of His Eminence as the 2026 Person of the Year reflects the high scientific and intellectual standing he enjoys at the Arab and international levels, and his influential role in supporting the issues of the Muslim world, renewing religious discourse, and building bridges of dialogue and understanding between different peoples and cultures.
