His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, received today, Wednesday, at Al-Azhar headquarters, His Excellency Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Information Service (SIS), to discuss avenues for enhancing cooperation in promoting the message of Al-Azhar.

The Grand Imam stressed the need for purposeful media to play its role in raising awareness of the nation’s issues and consolidating belonging to and pride in the homeland. He emphasized Al-Azhar Al-Sharif’s openness and constant readiness to cooperate with various national and media institutions in order to spread the values of peace and positive coexistence, and enhance social awareness of intellectual, cultural and religious issues.

Ambassador Alaa Youssef, for his part, expressed his happiness at meeting the Grand Imam and his appreciation for the Grand Imam's significant and tangible efforts in disseminating the true teachings of Islam and refuting misconceptions about this noble religion. He noted that the Grand Imam's international tours, particularly in Europe, have played a crucial role in promoting the tolerant principles of Islam. He affirmed the SIS's readiness to dedicate its resources to supporting Al-Azhar's role and spreading its lofty message regionally and internationally, thereby strengthening the values of moderation, tolerance, and human fraternity.
