His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb mourned the passing of the esteemed scholar, Prof. Mahmoud Khafagy, Professor of Islamic Creed and Philosophy at Al-Azhar University. Prof. Khafagy passed away after a long and distinguished career dedicated to serving philosophy and Islamic sciences, and to instilling the moderate Azhari approach in the hearts of his students and researchers.

 

His Eminence extended his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the family of the deceased, his students, and the entire Al-Azhar community. The grand Imam prayed to Almighty Allah to have mercy on the deceased, grant him a spacious place in Paradise, and bestow patience and solace upon his honorable family. “Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.”
