His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, received Counselor Mohamed Refaat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Judges’ Club of Egypt, today, Tuesday, at Al-Azhar headquarters, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation.

His Eminence emphasized the vital role played by Egypt’s judges in establishing the foundations of justice, upholding its values, protecting the rights of the oppressed and vulnerable, asserting the rule of law, maintaining social stability, and embedding the principles of fairness. He stressed that Al-Azhar attaches great importance to supporting all efforts that contribute to raising social awareness and preserving the system of values and ethics.

Addressing the topic of youth, His Eminence highlighted a major crisis facing society today: agendas aimed at severing young people from their cultural, religious, and moral roots. He pointed to accompanying attempts at intellectual and cultural hijacking designed to destabilize them and impair their ability to distinguish between right and wrong. This occurs amidst a sweeping cultural invasion that penetrates homes and reaches young people’s private spaces unchecked, largely isolating them from the issues facing their nation and the wider Islamic community, driving some to abandon their identity, and rendering them easy prey to a flood of moral dissipation and eroding values.

The Head of the Egyptian Judges’ Club expressed his pleasure at meeting the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and his appreciation for His Eminence’s significant efforts to disseminate the true image of Islam, correct misconceptions, and promote the values of moderation and balance. His Excellency emphasized that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif stands as an impenetrable fortress in defending the causes of the Nation, spreading enlightened religious awareness, and countering extremist ideologies and hate speech. He also praised Al-Azhar’s historic role in serving Egyptian society and supporting Arab and Islamic causes, while thanking the Grand Imam for inaugurating a branch of Al-Azhar Riwaq at the Egyptian Judges Club—an initiative that contributes to spreading the moderate approach and fostering enlightened religious awareness.
