His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, extended his sincere congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian people, and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of the Prophet’s Birth Anniversary—Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Prophet of Mercy and the Messenger of peace and humanity. He prayed to Allah Almighty to bring this blessed occasion back to the Arab and Islamic nations and to all of humanity with goodness, security, peace, and stability.

The Grand Imam affirms that the figure honored by this blessed occasion was sent by Allah Almighty as a mercy to the worlds. He brought a divine, humanitarian message that established values of mercy, justice, and peace, leading humanity out of the darkness of ignorance and injustice into the light of guidance and equity. His Eminence added that our contemporary world is in dire need of drawing inspiration from the guidance of this noble Prophet (PBUH) and emulating his character and life to confront the conflicts, wars, and stifling humanitarian and moral crises facing us today.

On this blessed occasion, the Grand Imam calls upon the members of the Islamic Ummah to make the occasion of the Prophet’s birth a renewed opportunity to emulate his morals and sunnah. He urges believers to embed the values of mercy, mutual compassion, tolerance, and justice; to strive for unity and solidarity among Muslims. Ultimately, rejecting the causes of division and discord will contribute to the construction of more secure, cohesive, and compassionate societies.

The Grand Imam implores Allah Almighty—Exalted be He—to bestow security, peace, and stability upon Egypt, its people, and all Muslim lands. He prays to Allah Almighty to spare humanity from wars and conflicts; to unite hearts and bring them together for the greater good; and to make the anniversary of the birth of Al-Mustafa (the Chosen One) a harbinger of goodness, blessing, and mercy for our Arab and Islamic nations and for all of humanity.
