Grand Imam of Al-Azhar to the Palestinian people: Many happy returns with you, being a symbol of steadfastness and the heart of Arabism
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, extends sincere greetings to the Arab and Muslim nation on the blessed ˁEid-ul-Fiṭr, wishing many happy returns to our Muslim nation, in all goodness, welfare and prosperity. In a noble gesture, the Grand Imam specifically expresses greetings to the Palestinian people, asserting that the Palestinians are symbols of steadfastness and the heart of Arabism, and that the cause of Jerusalem shall ever remain the primary cause for the Muslims. This greeting was expressed in a post by the Grand Imam on his Facebook and Twitter accounts that reads as follows, “Many happy returns to our dear Egypt and to the Arab and Muslim nation, in wellbeing and peace on the occasion of the blessed ˁEid-ul-Fiṭr, with the steadfast Palestine as the heart of Arabism and Jerusalem as the primary cause of the Muslims. Many happy returns to Palestine, wishing it wellbeing, security and peace.”
