Under the directives of HE the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, a medical convoy set off from Al-Azhar to Gaza Strip in solidarity with our brethren in Palestine and Gaza Strip, following the blatant aggression they suffered at the hands of the occupant Zionist entity last month. Dr. Mahmoud Siddiq, Vice President of Al-Azhar University and General Supervisor of Convoys in Al-Azhar, confirmed that the convoy includes 4 transport vehicles loaded with various medical supplies, including surgical threads and surgery tools, like plates and screws used in orthopedic surgeries, in addition to uniforms, sterilization tools, cannulas and surgical supplies.
This comes as part of the historical role of Al-Azhar in supporting the causes of the Arab and Muslim nation. It aims to boost solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people and Gaza Strip in the wake of the Zionist aggression against it. Last month, the largest relief convoy ever launched by Al-Azhar was sent to the Gaza Strip, carrying 150 tons of necessary medical, food and relief supplies. It came in continuation of Al-Azhar’s permanent role in support of the Gaza Strip and the Arab and Muslim causes, and in solidarity with different peoples. It also aimed at promoting the spirit of brotherhood and unity among the members of the nation.
