Grand Imam of Al-Azhar participates in two religious leaders summits on climate and education in Rome

Early next month, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb will head for the Italian capital Rome, to participate in the activities of Religious Leaders Summit on Climate Change, entitled “Faith and Science”, on October 4, which is a prelude to the UN conference COP26 (26th UN Climate Change Conference), October 31-November 12 this year, in the presence of political leaders.
The conference is set to come out with several recommendations by religious leaders and representatives around the world about the vision of religions in reducing the negative effects of climate and environmental change, promoting ethical aspects in preserving the environment, and the importance of global solidarity and the principle of shared responsibility as realistic solutions towards implementing more effective sustainable development plans. The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar will also participate in the religious leaders’ meeting on education under the title Towards a Global Compact for Education, October 5, which coincides with the World Teachers’ Day.  His Eminence is scheduled to participate with religious leaders in saluting and thanking teachers around the world for their efforts, especially with the outbreak of COVID-19, and their ability to adapt to the educational conditions imposed by this pandemic.
