His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, mourns in constant satisfaction with Allah’s Decree, the passing of Counselor Abdel Aati Mahmoud El-Shafei, former President of the Supreme Court of Appeal and member of the Al-Hasasnah families in Luxor. Extending condolences to the entire Arab Republic of Egypt, the Grand Imam affirms that the late judge spent his life serving the country and consolidating the values of citizenship and peace, and that Allah Almighty endowed him with eloquence, which he invested in his speeches and writings promoting tolerance among the followers of heavenly messages, supporting national cohesion and fraternity among people. The Grand Imam extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of Judge El-Shafei, praying to the Almighty Allah to dwell him in Paradise, asserting “Surely, we belong to Allah and unto Him we shall return.”
