Grand Imam greets Pope Francis, Pope Tawadros, Archbishop of Canterbury and Archbishop of Constantinople on Christmas
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb greeted Pope Francis, of the Vatican, Pope Tawadros, of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark, Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and Patriarch Bartholomew I, of Constantinople, as well as church leaders and Christian fellows in the East and West on Christmas. This greeting was posted on the Grand Imam’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts, in several languages, and it read as follows: “Sincere greetings on Christmas to friends, Pope Francis, Pope Tawadros, Archbishop Justin Welby, Patriarch Bartholomew I, as well as all Christian fellows around the world on Christmas. I pray to Almighty Allah to shower our world with peace, love and fraternity, and spare us the woes of hatred and wars.”
