Grand Imam At-Tayyeb calls for uniting international efforts in combatting radicalism and terrorism

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb called for uniting efforts in combating terrorism, extremism, and hate speech on Facebook and Twitter. Commenting on the terrorist incident that took place in Monday evening, in the Austrian capital Vienna, HE the Grand Imam said in a tweet which was published in Arabic, English and German, "I was deeply saddened by the terrorist incident that took place downtown in Vienna, a tragedy that turned this quiet and safe place into an arena for bloodshed, spreading panic and fear." The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar expressed his sympathy with the families of the victims, "I deeply sympathize with the families of the victims as well as all victims of terrorism around the world. I also call for a united international effort to combat terrorism, extremism and hate speech."
It is worth noting that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif had condemned the terrorist attacks that took place in separate places in the Austrian capital Vienna, which killed 4 innocent people and injured others. Al-Azhar then appealed to all international bodies and institutions to stand united in the face of terrorism, and for all people to unite in promoting peace throughout the world and combatting violence and hatred.
