The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, sent a message to medical crews around the world, through his official Facebook and Twitter accounts, in Arabic and English. His Eminence posted, “Salute to our heroes, including doctors, medical staff, and healthcare workers, who stand on frontlines of defense to protect us and preserve our societies from the COVID-19 pandemic. Sincere thanks and appreciation to and respect for them for the sacrifices they make. I ask Allah to safeguard them from all harms and evils.” This statement comes in light of the considerable increase in the number of people infected with the Corona virus around the world, and the daily strenuous efforts and sacrifices made by medical staff members, and their coming to the forefront on the global scene by virtue of their presence in the frontlines of defense to protect humanity and relieve the sick and injured.
