Today, Thursday, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, made a phone call to Pope Tawadros, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, to congratulate him on the new year, wishing our beloved Egypt many happy returns in goodness, love and peace. During the phone call, the Grand Imam confirmed that Egypt has always set a unique model of social cohesion and solidarity between Muslims and Christians, and that their unity represented an impenetrable wall in the face of all attempts to stir up sedition. Both His Eminence the Grand Imam and the Pope prayed to Allah to lift the pandemic, to grant the infected a speedy recovery, to protect medical crews around the world from all harms and ills, and to help scientists, researchers and manufacturing companies to produce enough vaccines so that things may go back to normal, and all humankind enjoy security and stability.
