Today, Monday, at the Headquarters of Al-Azhar, HE  Prof. Ahmad At-Tayeb, ‎Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif received Ambassador Mahmoud Talaat, ‎Egyptian Ambassador to the Holy See. Prof. At-Tayyeb sent a message of love ‎and appreciation to his brother, HH Pope Francis, through Ambassador Talaat, ‎in which he stated: “My dear friend, I hold much love and appreciation for you, ‎and I hope that Allah will keep blessing you with good health and wellness. I ‎recall with utmost pride our joint efforts in serving humanity and I hope to meet ‎you soon so that we may continue the journey of promoting human fraternity in the ‎face of contemporary challenges.”‎

For his part, Ambassador Talaat expressed his pleasure to meet the Grand Imam ‎of Al-Azhar and appreciation for his great efforts in cooperation with HH Pope ‎Francis, which culminated in the cosigning of the historic Human Fraternity ‎Document in February 2019. He added that he is keen to harness the efforts of ‎the Egyptian Embassy to keep promoting and consolidating the relations ‎between Al-Azhar and the Vatican.‎
