Grand Imam of Al-Azhar to the Arab leaders: We all hope that you harness all the resources and equipment that Allah has granted you to stop the Zionist oppression against our brotherly people in Palestine. H.E. Prof. Dr. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, sent an urgent appeal to the leaders gathered at the Arab Summit tomorrow in Riyadh, to quickly intervene and stop the aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people. He called on Allah Almighty to grant them success in their efforts so that they may deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian brotherly people and reach an urgent resolution that stops the constant killing of innocent people. He commented that Allah knows that such bloodshed is disavowed by all people in the East and West. Hence, he hoped that the Arab leaders’ resolution can put an end to this intolerable cruelty. In a blog post on his official social media pages, Grand Imam At-Tayyeb added, “We cherish you and stand behind you in all hope and confidence that you will harness all that Allah has granted you of strength, resources, equipment, wisdom, experience, and political leverage to stop this Zionist aggression against our brotherly people in Palestine.”

In his message to the Arab leaders, Grand Imam At-Tayyeb stressed that confronting the aggression against our brotherly people in Palestine is our religious and legal duty and is our responsibility before Allah Almighty, whether we are rulers or citizens. He concluded his message with Quranic verse that reads, “Do not falter or grieve, for you will have the upper hand, if you are true believers.”
