Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, extends his sincere congratulations to Mr. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic of Egypt, the masses of the Egyptian people, and the Egyptian Ministry of Interior represented in its Minister, officers and soldiers, on the occasion of Police Day and the anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.

Al-Azhar expresses its sincere appreciation for and pride in the sacrifices of the police heroes and their brave men, whose heroism was evident in their courageous patriotic stand against the British occupation forces in the city of Ismailia in 1952 AD. Today marks the seventy-second anniversary of this event, so we call on the Egyptian people to inspire the spirit of sacrifice, determination and love of the homeland from this dear memory, especially at this time when our dear Egypt and the Arab and Islamic world are going through challenges that require all of us to work together with sincerity and dedication for the elevation and progress of our countries.

Al-Azhar also confirms that the January 25 Revolution wrote a new chapter in the history of the Egyptian struggle and the quest for the advancement of the homeland. The Grand Imam asked Allah Almighty to provide Egypt with all the means for prosperity and stability, to have mercy on the righteous martyrs of Egypt, to protect our dear homeland from all harm and evil, and to grant Egypt goodness, security, prosperity and peace.
