Under the directives of HE Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif and EZCH Supervisor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the EZCH launched today, Monday, the 7th relief convoy to provide relief to our people in Gaza, as part of the international Help Gaza Campaign.
The convoy includes 115 trucks, carrying approximately 2000 tons of food supplies (oil, flour, rice, butter, macaroni, instant canned food, dates, cheese, dairy, and bottled water), medical and living supplies, requirements for children, the elderly, and people of determination, and large quantities of furnishings, clothes, and mattresses.
Entities from more than 85 countries worldwide have shared in preparing the EZCH convoy, most of whom are from Jordan, Indonesia, Germany, and Bangladesh. The convoys set off from the Headquarters of the Al-Azhar this afternoon, heading to the Rafah Egyptian-Palestinian border crossing, in preparation for its entry into the Gaza Strip to provide relief to our fellow brothers and sisters there.
This is the 7th convoy in the Help Gaza campaign, launched by HE Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, last October. Since then, many countries have rushed to participate in the campaign in response to the Grand Imam’s appeal to the free world to support and provide relief to our fellow people in Gaza. It is also part of the relief bridge launched by the EZCH in light of the continued Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip, for nearly seven months, amid a humanitarian and health catastrophe that is aggravating day by day. The aggression has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 34 thousand, most of whom are children, women, and elderly, and the injury of more than 77 thousand, in a war of extermination and starvation waged by the Zionist occupation against the Gaza Strip. So far, 440 trucks, carrying approximately 8,000 tons of humanitarian and relief aid, were sent to the Graza Strip.
