Today, Wednesday, at the Headquarters of the Al-Azhar, HE Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif received Dr. Amr Rashid, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, accompanied by Dr. Amir Hamdi, Head of the Central Administration for Ambulance Authority’s Chairmanship Affairs, to discuss ways to provide medical and first aid services for Al-Azhar Headquarters and the Islamic Bu’uth Cities. The meeting was held in the presence of Prof. Muhammad Ali, Director of the Therapeutic Department at the Egyptian Zakat and Charity House, and his Deputy Director, Prof. Ahmad Hassan.
His Eminence Imam At-Tayyeb underscored the role of ambulance agencies in supporting our brothers in Gaza, noting that ambulance men took the lead in rescuing the injured and helping to recover missing children, women, and the elderly who are subjected to ceaseless savage bombings for more than 214 continuous days. He called all ambulance agencies to continue to support Gazans and to join hands toward stopping the bleeding of innocent people in the isolated strip.
Within his keenness to secure medical and emergency services for Al-Azhar students and employees, Imam At-Tayyeb stressed the necessity of providing medical ambulances at Al-Azhar Headquarters and the Islamic Bu’uth Cities. This is meant to provide ambulance service to students of Al-Azhar University, both Egyptian and international, and Al-Azhar employees. ‏
For his part, Dr. Rashid introduced a vision for establishing station points for two ambulances, equipped with an intensive care unit with cutting-edge medical equipment. One station point will serve the Headquarters of Al-Azhar and the other will serve the Islamic Bu’uth Cities.
