Al-Azhar Grand Imam and MCE Chairman, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, left the Kingdom of Thailand this Monday afternoon, heading to the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, on an official visit that will last several days.

 

The Grand Imam is scheduled to meet with a number of officials, most notably Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Indonesian Minister of Defense and president-elect, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, and Indonesian Vice President, Mr. Ma'ruf Amin, in addition to a number of officials and religious leaders. The visit also includes many activities aimed at enhancing communication with all members of Indonesian society.
