Al-Azhar Grand Imam (GI) and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders (MCE), Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, stressed during a phone call the depth of relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and they exchanged views on humanitarian challenges and Islamic issues.

 

His Majesty King Hamad and the Grand Imam confirmed the importance and the urgent necessity of Islamic-Islamic dialogue, on which the Kingdom of Bahrain will host an important conference early next year. They stressed the need to work to unite the nation and achieve cohesion and solidarity among its various components to face common challenges.

 

His Eminence expressed Al-Azhar’s pride in the strong relations that bind it to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and his appreciation for the efforts made by His Majesty King Hamad to serve Islam, promote peace and coexistence, consolidate the culture of dialogue, and support the Palestinian cause and the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people. His Eminence stressed the need for humanity to combine the efforts of sincere leaders in order to establish peace in the region and the world.

 

His Majesty the King of Bahrain expressed during the call his appreciation for the efforts of the Grand Imam in serving Islam and Muslims, and introducing the principles of moderate Islam, and the role of His Eminence and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in supporting the issues of the Arab and Islamic nation.
