Allah has assigned the State Council the responsibility of establishing justice among people, and we ask Allah that you will be up to its responsibility, GI to the Head of the Egyptian State Council:

Al-Azhar Grand Imam (GI), Prof. Ahmad al-Tayyeb, received today, Wednesday, at Al-Azhar HQ, His Excellency Counselor Ahmed Aboud, Head of the Egyptian State Council, at the head of a high-level delegation of the Council’s leaders.

His Eminence the Grand Imam welcomed the Head of the Egyptian State Council and his accompanying delegation to Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, stressing his pride in Egypt’s honorable judges and his appreciation for the role of the State Council and the judicial authorities in applying justice without discrimination, and its importance in spreading social peace and harmony. His Eminence stated: “Allah Almighty has singled out the State Council to carry out the responsibility of establishing justice among people and protecting their rights and freedoms. This is a great responsibility, and we ask Allah to grant you success and to enable you to be up to this responsibility.”

Counselor Ahmed Aboud expressed the State Council judges’ appreciation for the great efforts made by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in spreading the true image of Islam, and the global value he represents through spreading peace and coexistence among all, stating: “Your Eminence has a great place and love in our hearts, as Egyptians, and in the hearts of Muslims around the world, and the Islamic world knows your value and position, and we ask Allah to grant you good health and continued wellness.”

At the end of the meeting, Counselor Ahmed Aboud presented the Grand Imam with the Council’s shield. His Eminence the Grand Imam also presented His Excellency with a copy of The Pope and the Grand Imam: A Thorny Path, a book by Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders, who combined his work as a judge at the State Council with that of an advisor to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif during the period from 2010 to 2019.
