His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, received today, Wednesday, at the Sakhir Royal Palace, His Eminence Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, on the occasion of his visit to the country to participate in the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference, held under the slogan: “One Nation, One Shared Destiny.”  

At the beginning of the meeting, the King welcomed the Grand Imam and his participation in this blessed Islamic conference, wishing him success in achieving its desired objectives in a way that serves the nation's causes and strengthens the values of solidarity, cohesion, and unity in facing current challenges.  

His Majesty praised the Grand Imam’s efforts and noble endeavors in promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue, as well as fostering cooperation among people of different religions and cultures. He also commended Al-Azhar’s esteemed role in spreading the true message of Islam, emphasizing moderation, tolerance, and love.  

For his part, the Grand Imam expressed his appreciation for Bahrain’s hosting of the  Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference and for King Hamad’s efforts in serving the nation’s causes and promoting peace, coexistence, love, and cooperation among different peoples and cultures.
