His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb was keen to receive the families of the nation’s martyrs from the Egyptian armed forces and police, who offered their lives in defense of the country, to console and relieve them. This gesture came in appreciation of the sacrifices made by the martyers and their families in defense of their homeland.
On October 30, 2017, Grand Imam At-Tayyeb received the family of the heroic martyr Ahmad Mansi, who was martyred in a terrorist attack on his battalion in Rafah, North Sinai. Out of Al-Azhar’s appreciation , as represented in the Grand Imam and Al-Azhar scholars and students, of the heroism of Ahmad Mansi and other Egyptian martyrs in defense of Egypt, the Grand Imam offered them the shield of Al-Azhar. This shield is offered out of gratitude for these heroes who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their homeland.
During his meeting with the martyr’s family, His Eminence expressed his pride in and appreciation for Egypt’s heroic martyrs, saying, “Colonel Ahmad Mansi was martyred in the field of honor and heroism, defending Egypt’s soil and protecting the Egyptians from violence and terrorism groups. Ahmad Mansi and other Egyptian armed forces and police martyrs are inscribing with their blood model-role lessons of sacrifice and patriotism.”
This meeting had a great impact on the family of heroic martyr Ahmad Mansi, helping to alleviate their pain and sorrow, and providing psychological and moral support to them.
