The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, arrived in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on a visit to the country, during which he will receive the Sheikh Zayed Book Award’s for the Cultural Personality of the Year in its 2013 session. At-Tayyeb was received at the Amiri Airport by the UAE Minister of Justice, Hadef bin Juan Al Dhaheri, the Egyptian Ambassador to the UAE Tamer Mansour, and a number of senior officials, according to the Emirates News Agency.

At-Tayyeb expressed his appreciation of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award organizers’ trust in him, and their awarding him the Cultural Personality of the Year award. For him, this honor is a tribute to Egypt, to Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif and to the Islamic world at large.
