His Eminence the Grand Imam chairs the seventh CME session and the third WAAG Forum

This visit received great attention at all official, media and popular levels in Indonesia, witnessing a warm welcome of the Grand Imam by the Indonesian government and people.

Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, received the Grand Imam, and they discussed the various aspects of cooperation between Al-Azhar and Indonesia. His Eminence also met the Indonesian Vice President, Muhammad Jusuf Kalla , as well as a number of leading scholars and preachers of Indonesia.

In Indonesia, His Eminence addressed the Muslims in the Asian continent and all over the world, delivering an international speech at the University of Indonesia, in Jakarta. Besides, he presided over the seventh CME session and the third forum of WAAG (Indonesia Branch).

In appreciation of his scholarly and religious efforts in spreading the values of moderation, peace and coexistence among societies, and out of pride in his scholarly, religious and spiritual standing and his great contributions, Maulana Malik Ibrahim Islamic State University Malang awarded the Grand Imam an honorary doctorate.
