Al-Azhar keen to communicate with religious institutions to achieve global security and peace, Grand Imam to a delegation of Japanese Interfaith Council
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received a delegation from the Japan Interfaith Council, headed by Mr. Shotai Yokoyama, during their visit to Cairo.
The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif believes that the law that should control the relationship between human beings is cooperation, acquaintance and solidarity among all people, regardless of their religions and beliefs, pointing out that the Holy Qur’an approves this law as stated in more than one verse.
His Eminence explained that Al-Azhar is keen on communicating and cooperating with religious institutions, and exchanging visions and ideas with different civilizations and cultures in order to achieve security and peace for all humankind.
Mr. Shotai Yokoyama, for his part, expressed his great pleasure for visiting Egypt, the country of Al-Azhar and the protector of divine religions, stressing the organization's keenness to cooperate with Al-Azhar, the most prominent Islamic institution in the world to achieve the peace that all the divine religions and human teachings call for.
