During his meeting with Chairman of Egyptian Judges Club, the Grand Imam: The Egyptian judiciary is a key pillar of the Egyptian state
His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Judge Mohamed Abdel-Mohsen, Chairman of Egyptian Judges Club, Vice-President of the Court of Cassation, and the club’s board members, in the presence of Judge Mohamed Abdel-Salam, Advisor to Al-Azhar Grand Imam. At the beginning of the meeting, the Grand Imam greeted Chancellor Abdel-Mohsen on his election as President of the Judges Club. He also greeted the new board members on their nomination, stressing that Egypt is proud of its judiciary and judges. The Grand Imam added that the Egyptian judiciary is a key pillar on which the Egyptian state is built, being a sure guarantee, along with other state institutions, of the state’s security and stability. Those institutions, asserted the Grand Imam, have preserved the cohesion and stability of the society and prevented its slip into conflicts that have swept many other neighboring countries.
For his part, Chancellor Abdel-Mohsen thanked the Grand Imam for his support to him at the beginning of tenure. He also applauded Al-Azhar’s continuous development and modernization efforts and its role in promoting Islamic tolerance and confronting extremist ideas. Chancellor Abdel-Mohsen maintained that the Grand Imam is dear to the Egyptian people in general, and to the Egyptian judges in particular.
