Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Ambassador Mori Fofana, Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Egypt.

The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif bears the responsibility of promoting correct thought, confronting extremism and terrorism, and consolidating the values of coexistence among all the people of the African continent. He expressed Al-Azhar's readiness to train imams and Islamic preachers in Sierra Leone to deal with contemporary issues and developments, and to provide more scholarships for Sierra Leonean students to study in various disciplines of knowledge at Al-Azhar.

For his part, the Sierra Leonean Ambassador expressed his country's deep thanks for the care the Sierra Leone students receive at Al-Azhar. He added that Sierra Leone is looking forward for more support from Al-Azhar in the fields of education and missionary, the case which will help it combat deviant thought and contribute to the advancement of Muslims in Sierra Leone.
